Mailchimp started with email marketing for small businesses. Then focusing on the needs of the small businesses, they made their service free after a few years. After some time they decided to expand their offering to “all things marketing” for that same group of small business owners. At that turning point in the history of their company they decided it was time for a rebrand.

The Breakdown

Before the 2018 Collins rebrand, the Mailchimp mascot and logo evolved over the years and was accompanied by several different look and feels.

Mailchimp was known, before the rebrand, to have ambiguous and irreverent billboards, trusting their fans would know the company behind the advertisement.
